Jazzy Cat Stratocaster Pickup Set
- "We use these in our Black One Strat" Same Outputs, Same Inductance, Same Stagger.  Scooped Mid Range Tone. The closest that one can get to Euphoria in tone.  We have spent countless hours researching, to obtain all the information necessary to build a set of pickups that gets this Tone.  We went through several dozen test sets in the development, fine tuning each to get as close as possible.  We also had to order special magnets to stock for this set.  The neck has a very unique stagger while the middle & bridge have the same stagger, but it is as well is different from traditional vintage stagger.  These pickups are lower in output (not low output) providing that scooped mid range tone, very clean, while still full in the low end, provides that extreme crystal clean quack which is a signature characteristic to this set.  The set has Hand Beveled Magnets, wax potted, & RWRP.

Extensive testing was done on a Two Rock amp we have here at the shop and with just a touch of reverb from the amp it achieves tonal euphoria.

These pickups also put your guitar in the tonal range so you can get some killer Hendrix and SRV tones.  This set also is great for playing some smokehouse blues, so don't think you will be limited in your tone for playing this set.

Left Hand Available - No Extra Charge

Specs:  Not Published, so please don't ask for them.

No one in the market today has pickups that achieve this tone.  We are proud to say that we are the First.

- Wire, Our 42ga Heavy Formvar wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent dozens of samples of wire from early stratocasters for analysis.  We get our 42ga Heavy Formvar built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1954 pickups is simply breathtaking.  You will never hear a more pure sounding 1954 pickup.  These are some of the most balanced sounding pickups, the low end is nice and fat, the mids are present but not overpowering, the treble frequencies are very clear but not piercing.

- Compression, current production Alnico 3 is very bright & brittle, it has a rather harsh upper mid range compression.  The Original Alloy Alnico 3 is by far more mellow sounding and has a lower mid range compression.  This is what you hear when you A/B them to a real 54.

Whether you are playing a 1954 or just switching pickups in your favorite axe, these 1954's will be one of the best upgrades you can possibly make.  We tested these pickups in multiple strats, Alder, Ash, Mahogany, Basswood, in both Maple & Rosewood necks.  There was no combination that did not sound excellent.

Wire, our 42ga Heavy Formvar wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent dozens of samples of wire from early stratocasters for analysis.  We get our 42ga Heavy Formvar built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.  Our 42ga Heavy Formvar Wire is the most authentic and accurate Magnet Wire Available.

Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1956 pickups is simply amazing, stunning, and authentic.  You will never hear a more pure sounding pickup.  People often ask us why vintage pickups sound so good.   Well, the main reason why is that materials used in the 50s & 60's are not the same as today's off the shelf parts.   Replicating every alloy, every element, every aspect of a pickup is why our 1956 Epic Series Pickups sound identical to a real 1956 pickup.  We get every part of the Epic 1956 pickups specially manufactured, only for us, from an actual 1956 pickup.  We've A/B them and the tones are identical.

Compression, the current Alnico 5 alloy is very strong, very bright, & has quite a brittle edginess.  One of the first things that is noticeable is that original magnets aren't as strong.   This is not due to demagnetizing (like every other manufacturers does), but it's due to the chemical composition.  1956 ash body guitars are know for their sweet clean tones but with their uncanny ability to drive the signal with out a heavy mid range.  The pickups are just that, clean & driven, a perfect combination for any strat players who's wanting a REAL STRAT Sound.

The early strats are highly collectible, very expensive, are their tone is jaw dropping, so now is your chance to get them in your guitar.  1956 guitars and pickups fetch a steep price tag.   We tested these pickups in multiple strats, Alder, Ash, Mahogany, Basswood, in both Maple & Rosewood necks.  There was no combination that did not sound excellent.  If you are wanting a closer rendition, ash/maple.

Fun Fact, about half way through 1956, fender switched over to alder bodies, paving the way for the ever so classic and iconic 1957 stratocaster guitar.

All pickups are "Flash Potted" to avoid microphonic squeal but still retains the natural characteristics just like original pickups.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1958 pickups is just amazing.  You will never hear a more pure sounding pickup.  People often ask us why vintage pickups sound so good.   Well, the main reason why is that materials used in the 50s & 60's are not the same as today's off the shelf parts.   Replicating every alloy, every element, every aspect of a pickup is why our 1958 Epic Series Pickups sound identical to a real 1958 pickup.  We get every part of the Epic 1958 pickups specially manufactured, only for us, from an actual 1958 pickup.  We've A/B them and the tones are identical.  1958 Epic pickups have a Big and Fat low end, often not associated with current magnets as current magnets have a nasty Mid Range presence that also pairs with the chunkyness.   The mids on the 1958 set are very solid, not overbearing but are shifted to the lower mid frequencies not the upper dark mids.   The treble is crystal clear and melodic.

- Compression, the current Alnico 5 alloy is very strong, very bright, & has quite a brittle edginess.  One of the first things that is noticeable is that original magnets aren't as strong.   This is not due to demagnetizing, but it's due to the chemical composition.  1958 guitars are know for their sweet clean tones but with their uncanny ability to drive the signal with out a heavy mid range.  The pickups are just that, clean & driven.  The pickups also have another characteristic from vintage strats that is not found in current materials, as known from the guitar aficionado & collector community, 1958 strats have a natural swirly-ness to them, similar to how a vox & matchless amps swirl when notes ring out.   1958 strats are the only year of strats that contain this characteristic.   This pickup is the only pickup in the world who retains these natural swirls.

Now is your chance to play with the same 1958 pickups with out the steep price tag of buying originals.   We tested these pickups in multiple strats, Alder, Ash, Mahogany, Basswood, in both Maple & Rosewood necks.  There was no combination that did not sound excellent.

-Tone, the low end on these pickups are unprecedented, full of low end chunkiness, paired with a very nice medium output, brings out a perfect balance to the mid range drive in these pickups.   They have just the right amount of bark in the mids, clean when strummed politely while driving when played more aggressively .  The top end clarity present and very well balanced.  Overall, these are a medium output set that can drive and bark when needed.

-Compression, these pickups are medium in output so they will have a solid mid range presence.   They will drive when needed or run warm and full when left clean.

- This set is made to replicate original fender 1962 pickups, in look, tone, and feel.  Exact magnetic field flux strength of the pickup and the exact stagger is used in it's construction.  Cast Alnico 5 magnets, each holds the same magnetic charge as taken from the Original 1962 set.

Once the pickup is wound we lightly wax pot (FLASH POT) them to avoid unwanted microphonic feedback but still retains that natural vintage tone.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1963 pickups is a dead ringer.   For those who don't know that phrase, it's a complete recreation.  100% identical sonically and tonally to the original 1963 stratocaster's that fetch tens of thousands of dollars in today's markets.  The bass is tight for a matter of speaking, not flubby.   The mid range is strong and powerful, not to the sense of an overwound pickup, but that round bell curve tone that pushes tube amps.  The treble frequencies are clear with just enough brightness but not too dark when they compress.  The overall summary of the set would be described as a medium to a medium plus vintage pickup.   Not the bright strats and certainly not dark.  These have all the woody tones

- Compression, the current Alnico 5 alloy is very strong, very bright, & has quite a brittle edginess.  One of the first things that is noticeable is that original magnets aren't as strong.   This is not due to demagnetizing, but it's due to the chemical composition.  1963 stratocasters are very well known for having a very big and clean driven sound.   These pickups offer you that, big, open, and driven sound.   Here at Klein Pickups, when we reproduce a pickup 100%, we don't put our own spin, our own tweaks, our own interpretations on it, nothing.   We reproduce a pickup 100% the same as the original, every component being 100% identical to the original.

Now is your chance to play with the same big round fat strat tones found in Original 1963 stratocasters.  We tested these pickups in multiple strats, Alder, Ash, Mahogany, Basswood, in both Maple & Rosewood necks.  There was no combination that did not sound excellent.

All pickups are "Flash Potted" to avoid microphonic squeal but still retains the natural characteristics just like original pickups.

Wire, our 42ga Plain Enamel wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent dozens of samples of wire from CBS ERA stratocasters for analysis.  We get our 42ga Plain Enamel built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.  Our 42ga Plain Enamel Wire is the most authentic and accurate Magnet Wire Available for CBS Era Stratocasters.

Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1965 pickups is just amazing.  The main reason why is that materials used in the 50s & 60's are not the same as today's off the shelf parts.   Replicating every alloy, every element, every aspect of a pickup is why our Epic Series Pickups sound identical to a real pickup of that year.  We get every part of the Epic 1965 pickups specially manufactured, only for us, from an actual 1965 pickup.

Compression, the current Alnico 5 alloy is very strong, very bright, & has quite a brittle edginess.  One of the first things that is noticeable is that original magnets aren't as strong.   This is not due to demagnetizing, but it's due to the chemical composition.  The composition in 1965 yields for a sweeter and brighter tone.   Tremble frequencies are very articulate and the bass is tight.  The mid range of the pickup is strong and solid, not overbearing but akes a very well known presence.   The quack in the #2 and #4 positions is also very characteristic in the cluckiness seen from strats of this year.

Lots of famous stratocaster players play 1965 strats.  One of the most famous is "Lenny" from SRV.   His strat has a unique and very distinctive sound that is very noticeable.   Now you can have and afford the opportunity to play pickups with the exact same tonal possibilities as he did.

All pickups are "Flash Potted" to avoid microphonic squeal but still retains the natural characteristics just like original pickups.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1969 pickups is dead reminiscent to the days of Woodstock.  The bass response of the 1969 Original Alloy Magnets is tight, it has a little bit more of a punch to the bass than previous Pre CBS Era stratocaster pickups.   The mid range is more balanced to the bass frequencies, it's not a dark or heavily driven mid range.   The treble frequencies are bright and clean, a very nice compliment to the bass and mid range frequency responses.

- Compression, the current Alnico 5 alloy is very strong, very bright, & has quite a brittle edginess.  One of the first things that is noticeable is that original magnets aren't as strong.   This is not due to demagnetizing, but it's due to the chemical composition.  These pickups have a brighter compression compared to a darker mid range compression.  They have more of a bass compression than a mid range dark driving compression which lends to a cleaner, more crunchy OD tone, not a middy compression.

1969 is the first EPIC SERIES model pickups that were are offering to the guitar community.  We had high hopes with this pickup as it's a very popular year, need we name artists.  The results were astounding when we first put these pickups into our test strat (MIM).  Through a marshall or a Blackface amp, these pickups sing.
