![]() ![]() Testimonials 1. I purchased your S-5 strat pickups from your website 2 weeks ago and got them installed a few days ago. We spoke on the phone for awhile and I got your input on the different types you offer. I was looking for a set like what I had in my John Mayer strat, you said the S-5's were about 95% there as far as being close to the Big Dippers. Well, I have to disagree. They are much closer than that, in fact, they sound better than the Mayer pickups I had. Punchy, clear, responsive, and yes, perfect scooped mids. I can't wait to try more of your sets... -B.Alcorn 2. I just got some new Fender 57 / 62's for my 57. I also got a new maple fretboard neck replacing the rosewood. Long and short. I thought the guitar lacked all definition all across the board at my jam session yesterday with the changes. So this morning I swapped out the Fender p/ups for your S3's and THAT was the problem... Heh. Got my chime back, got the low ends, etc. NOW i'm good. -New Mexico 3. Your pickups sound really good. I decided to do a little swapping one guitar for the other playing the same riffs last night. Your pickups just have a much more full and live sound compared to the DMarzio. The custom set on mine came darn close to SRV tones through my amp, and with my 10 strings. The DMarzio have more of a clean, pure tone, yours have a much fuller tone capturing a broader range of overtones and undertones ... like a true vintage guitar should. -Missouri 4. I got to try out the S5's tonight at a blues jam and it killed. very nice set - punchy and sparkly - without being shrill. They sounded great! -Nevada 5. Hello Chris! I'm 51 years of age and played everything guitarwise. I've owned so many Stratocasters that I can't keep count. Easily 50 or more and a dozen being vintage 60's 70's. Your pickups sound better than anything I ever tried. I perfectly nail the sound of Jimi's Little Wing, Stevie's Riviera Paradise and anything of Knopfler's. You have my utmost respect. I've used dozens of pickups from many makers and several from Texas, but that sound that I searched for was not there. You bull's eyed it...! -B.Auten 6. I'm very pleased with the sound of the pickups. It has lots of nuances and dynamics. The attack is fast and precise. The individual pickups sound clear and bright but not at all edgy. The in-between positions sound fat without the somehow hollow out-of-phase character that I associate with RWRP pickup sets. -Finland 7. I had the Vintage Pro 50's Strat pickups installed and I have to tell you they are the best sounding Strat pickups I have ever heard. I love the 50's tone and the overwound bridge is perfect. -Joe 8. I got my strat back today after having your DG SPECIALS installed, been playing for six or so hours straight, every song, rif, solo and note I know. I just have one word to say about your pickups, NICE, actually two words, not just NICE, but F***ING NICE. Definately pleased! -Phillip 9. Our band did a jam today at practice studio (we usually rent a studio to practice in Japan) and played your pickups today. I absolutely loved it. It is more than I was expected. John Mayer tone it is. I had a Texas Special on my guitar before, but this one is exactly what I wanted. I just wanted to let you know. -Hiro (Japan) 10. G,day mate as you know I have purchased a few pickups from you of late, they are just great! I have installed two of the tele pups and the 69 strat set, tone to die for and great value, I wont be shopping anywhere else. Keep up the good work mate. -Bob (Australia) 11. I just wanted to tell you that I am really enjoying your pickups. I purchased Tele P-90 bridge and Tapped Tele neck (6.6k/7.4k) a month ago, and they are on my MIM Nashville Tele. I have been playing every day. It sounds Tele with P-90 power and taste! It really suits to my style. Neck tapped pickpu sounds very nice too. Thanks many times! -Shigeru (Japan) 12. Last weekend I started asking Chris Klein to recommend a set of pickups based on what I want out of a strat for my Fernandes MIJ copy. I said I wanted sort of a Ronnie Earl clean tone and the ability to do the SRV type thing with a TS-9. I also wanted something beefier for a bridge pup. I said that I like really like the HD Vintage + tele bridge pup. Chris said I needed the S-1 neck and middle with a P-90 bridge pickup. A flat set since I have a pretty flat fingerboard. I think I sent the payment on Sunday. Yesterday I had the pickups and this afternoon I installed them. Chris delivered exactly what I asked for. The neck and middle have that 3-d sparkle and rich tone, and the bridge P-90 pup does sort of sound like a Hot Tele bridge pup. With the tube screamer it really does give a really sweet tone. Many thanks to Chris for delivering just what I asked for at a fairly reasonable price. -Jim 13. This P-90 pickup freakin' rocks! It's everything I hoped it would be. Plenty
of growl and punch with sweet, singing highs. And it cleans up
beautifully, very responsive to the volume knob and pick attack. Plus
it still allows the character if the guitar to come through. -Dan 14. WOW! it sounds great! (S-5 Scooped Mids) - YouTube Video of Klein Pickups S-5 Scooped Mids Set - Tal (Israel) 15. The pickups have blown my mind, they sound incredibly. The thing I like most is that they do sound like John's pickups but aren't complete copies, leaving me with my own pickups. As you said the #4 position sounds amazing. Thank you so much for these incredible pieces of craftsmanship. - Jules (Netherlands) |
