1952 Epic Series Telecaster Pickup (Klein Pickups LLC)
Description:
1952 Epic Series Original Alloy 1952 Magnets.

Klein Pickups Epic Series Logo

- Our Epic Series 1952 Pickups use Original Alloy Magnets.  Original magnets were sent to an Independent Laboratory for Metallurgical Chemical Analysis Testing.  We then contracted direct with our magnet manufacturer to get the magnets Specially Poured to the exact composition of the Originals.  The bridge pickup consists of a unique blend Alnico 3 & the neck has an extremely rare composition of Alnico 5.  Both of these magnets are unique to the Fender 1952 Telecaster.  We are the only manufacturer who offers this.  Pure, Sweet, and Authentic Tone.

Klein Pickups LLC 1952 Original Alloy Telecaster Bridge Pickup Magnets

- Our 42ga Plain Enamel wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent several samples of wire from early telecasters for analysis.  We get our 42ga Plain Enamel built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.  As we have stated above, this is not just a stock spool of wire.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1952 pickups are simply remarkable.  Those of us who have heard and played a REAL 1952 appreciate the nature of the tone it produces.  Ours have been A/B against them.  The tone that our Authentic Reproductions produce is stunningly close, so close, if you close your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.  You will never hear a more pure sounding 1952 pickup reproduction.  The tone is simply classic blackguard tele, nice fat low end, thick and chunky mids, and a smooth treble top end.

- Compression, current production Alnico 3 is very bright & brittle, it has a rather harsh upper mid range compression.  The Original 1952 Bridge Alloy Alnico 3 is by far more mellow & warm sounding and has a lower mid range compression.  The Original 1952 Neck Alloy Alnico 5 is significantly different from the current Strong Alnico 5.  The tone of the neck is very smooth and chewy.  It really has a nice bark to it but it doesn't lose any of the overall clarity.

- More fun stuff.  We have our telecaster baseplates specially manufactured.  We start with cold rolled steel, then it gets stamped, mounting holes are tapped, then to plating.  Our baseplates are vintage correct, 0.06" thick, not the thin stuff available through retailers.  Copper plated.   We have seen examples of Early 1952 tele's that are still using the previous cold rolled steel with Zinc plating, but that is only Early 1952, a large majority of the 1952's had copper plated steel baseplates.

- 1952 is considered to be one of the most popular of the Blackguard Era guitars.  So many famous Artists play them.  It's simply because of the tone they produce and what we all have become accustomed to when referring to what a "Classic Tele" should sound like.

If you want your neck pickup Nitrocellulose Lacquer potted like the originals, we can offer that at no additional charge, but it will increase the production time by approximately 72 hours for cure time.

Broadcaster Epic Series Pickup (Klein Pickups LLC)
Description:
Broadcaster Epic Series Original Alloy 1950 Magnets.

Klein Pickups Epic Series Logo

- Our Epic Series 1950 Pickups use Original Alloy Magnets.  Original magnets were sent to an Independent Laboratory for Metallurgical Chemical Analysis Testing.  We then contracted direct with our magnet manufacturer to get the magnets Specially Poured to the exact composition of the Originals.  The Broadcaster bridge pickup consists of a unique blend Alnico 3 (unique to only the Broadcaster) & the Broadcaster neck has an extremely unique composition of Alnico 5 (unique only to the Broadcaster).  Both of these magnets are unique to the Fender Broadcaster.  We are the only manufacturer who offers this detailed of a reproduction.  Pure, Sweet, and Authentic Tone.

Klein Pickups LLC Broadcaster Original Alloy Magnets

- Our 43ga Plain Enamel wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent several samples of wire from early telecasters for analysis.  We get our 43ga Plain Enamel built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.  As we have stated above, this is not just a stock spool of wire.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic Broadcaster pickups are classic era telecaster.  The few remaining owners of real Broadcasters praise the uniqueness that Leo incorporated in it's construction.  The tone that our Authentic Reproductions produce is full, fat, treble'y, and driven.  You will never hear a more pure sounding Broadcaster pickup reproduction.  The tone is simply classic blackguard tele, nice fat low end, thick and chunky mids, and a smooth treble top end.

- Compression, current production Alnico 3 is very bright & brittle, it has a rather harsh upper mid range compression.  The Original Broadcaster Bridge Alloy Alnico 3 (which is different from current Alnico 3 & is different from the 1952 Alnico 3 alloy) is far warmer sounding and has a lower mid range compression.  The Original Broadcaster Neck Alloy Alnico 5 is warm and fuzzy.  It has a crispness that is lacking in current production Alnico 5 magnets.  Most players today associate current production Alnico 5 with a Bright, Harsh, & Brittle top end.   The Broadcaster Neck is none of these.  The tone of the neck is warm, full, driven, & fuzzy.  It has a nice bark to it but it doesn't lose any of the overall clarity that overwound pickups lose.

Klein Pickups Vintage Blackguard Zinc Plated Telecaster Bridge Plate

- More fun stuff.  We have our telecaster baseplates specially manufactured.  We start with cold rolled steel, then it gets stamped, mounting holes are tapped, then to plating.  Our baseplates are vintage correct, 0.06" thick, not the thin stuff available through retailers.  The plates are then Vintage Correct Zinc Plated.   We DO NOT USE current methods to zinc plate our stuff.  (SEE ABOVE)  We have all of our plates plated with the same technique & chemical composition that was from 1950.   Current methods have a different chemical composition and method of application.   Our zinc plates all have a "white powdery" look and feel to them, this is what you find if you peek under the hood of an Early Blackguard Tele.

- Broadcasters are unique to themselves.   There is no other telecaster that Leo produced that measured up to what a Broadcaster was.   They are true time pieces.  We incorporate the "V" groove that were found on the bottom black forbon where the hook up wire is attached on all of our Broadcaster bridges.  Every detail is copied & incorporated into our Vintage Epic Series Broadcaster Reproductions.

If you want your neck pickup Nitrocellulose Lacquer potted like the originals, we can offer that at no additional charge, but it will increase the production time by approximately 72 hours (+/-) for the nitro to cure.  (dependent on humidity levels) Output:

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1952 Esquire pickup is simply stunning.  Those of us who have heard and played a REAL Esquires, & Blackguard Era Tele's appreciate the nature of the tone it produces.  Ours have been A/B against them.  The tone that our Authentic Reproductions produce is stunningly close, so close, if you close your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.  You will never hear a more pure sounding Esquire pickup reproduction.  The tone is simply classic blackguard tele, nice fat low end, thick and chunky mids, and a smooth treble top end.

- Esquire is another one of the popular Blackguard Era guitars.  Everyone associates an Esquire with a single pickup but there are versions which had 2 pickups.  Esquires, for the most part, are very easy to distinguish as the vast majority of them had no neck pickup making it very quick and easy to identify.  So many famous Artists play them.  It's simply because of the tone they produce and what we all have become accustomed to when referring to what a "Classic Tele" should sound like.

Should anyone want us to manufacture a neck pickup for a double pickup Esquire, please contact us, as we'd love to build one for you.

We can also manufacture an Esquire for other years so if you want an esquire for a specific year from 1950-1969 please contact us, we'd love to build one for you.

1957 Epic Series Telecaster Pickup (Klein Pickups LLC)
Description:
1957 Epic Series Telecaster Pickups with Original Alloy 1957 Magnets.

Klein Pickups Epic Series Logo

- Our Epic Series 1957 Telecaster Pickups use Original Alloy Magnets.  These magnets are only used in our Epic 1957 model.  No other telecaster pickup uses this alloy as it's unique only to 1957.  Original magnets were sent to an Independent Laboratory for Metallurgical Chemical Analysis Testing.  We then contracted direct with our magnet manufacturer to get the magnets Specially Poured to the exact composition of the Originals.  The magnets are cut to the exact length as the original's were.  The bridge pickup has a compensated raised "D" & "G" pole, with the "G" being slightly lower than the "D".  We are the only manufacturer who offers Original Alloy Magnets.  Pure, Sweet, and Authentic Tone.

Klein Pickups LLC 1957 Original Alloy Telecaster Magnets

- Our 42ga Plain Enamel wire is not just stock wire.  We have sent several samples of wire from early telecasters for analysis.  We get our 42ga Plain Enamel built to the exact specs of the samples we have had analyzed.  Exact Resistance, Exact ID & OD, & Color matching.  As we have stated above, this is not just a stock spool of wire.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1957 pickups are very classic tele.  These puppies have twang and paired with output from 1957, the pickups just sing.   From the transition from the Blackguard Era to the White guard Era, outputs dropped.  Most think this was not a good thing and they are wrong.  The pickup has a nice and big, round, and clear bottom (bass) end.  Mid range is not overpowering but has the strength needed for all styles, clean or driven.  The top end is very clear, the unwound strings don't distort as they do with hotter pickups.

- Compression, current production Alnico 5 is very bright & extremely strong, it has a rather harsh upper mid range compression.  The Original 1957 Alloy Alnico 5 is by far smoother sounding and has a lower mid range compression, not the upper mids as found in current Alnico 5.  It really has a nice tele honk to it.

- More fun stuff.  The White guard Era began mid way through the year in 1954 when the black bakelite pickguards were replaced with white ABS 1 ply pickguards.  We also have our telecaster baseplates specially manufactured.  We start with cold rolled steel, then it gets stamped, mounting holes are tapped, then to plating.  Our baseplates are vintage correct, 0.06" thick, not the thin stuff available through other companies.  Copper plated.

If you want your neck pickup Nitrocellulose Lacquer potted like the originals, we can offer that at no additional charge, but it will increase the production time by approximately 72 hours for cure time.

1961 Epic Series Telecaster Pickup (Klein Pickups LLC)
Description:
1961 Epic Series Telecaster Pickups with Original Alloy 1961 Magnets.

Klein Pickups Epic Series Logo

- Our Epic Series 1961 Pickups use Original Alloy Magnets.

- Tone, the tone of our Authentic 1961 pickups are very classic and articulate.  These puppies have twang and clarity.  Much different in the terms of the earlier Blackguard Era pickups.  From the transition from the Blackguard Era to the White guard Era, outputs dropped.  Most think this was not a good thing and they are wrong.  The pickup has a nice and big, round, and clear bottom (bass) end.  The mid range is more on the medium side, present, & available but it's not going to blow through your amp rather it will allow you to run your amp at a louder volume with out pickups distorting the front end.  You could look at it like this, the pickups give you more clean headroom.  The top end is very clear, the unwound strings don't distort as they do with hotter pickups.

- Compression, current production Alnico 5 is very bright & extremely strong, it has a rather harsh upper mid range compression.  The Original 1961 Alloy Alnico 5 is by far smoother, more pleasing to the ear, and vintage magnets have a lower mid range compression, not the upper mids as found in current Alnico 5.  It really has a nice tele honk to it.

- More fun stuff.  Equipping your guitar with the 1961 Epic Telecaster pickups will be a ride that you have never traveled down before.  These puppies take effects pedals extremely well, especially gain & compression pedals.  The signal from the pickups is weaker than earlier pickups so when the signal enters the pedal, you get more of the pedal's character.
